Florida Craft Distilleries - Unique Florida Spirits

From Pirate themes to very unique flavors and in some cases - the processes as well.

We say Florida Distilleries are unique.

Did you know that the heat, humidity, and barometric pressure differences change many of the processes for producing some spirits in Florida? In particular, bourbon and whiskey where the higher all-year temperatures and unique Florida factors contribute to the more-rapid aging of Whiskey and other spirits in oak barrels?

This extends also to Rums and other spirits that are barrel aged in our tropical state. The high levels of evaporation in barrels contributes to faster aging and a different taste from Whisky aged in Kentucky and Tennessee. Not that it is bad - In fact, whiskey in Florida often contain the characteristics of a whisky aged longer, but aged for shorter periods here.

Subtropical Climate

Florida's warm, humid climate creates unique conditions that produce distinctive flavors and characteristics not found in traditional spirit regions.

Unique Ingredients

Florida distilleries use both traditional grains and unique local ingredients, creating spirits that capture the essence of the Sunshine State.

Diverse Regions

From the rolling hills of North Florida to the coastal regions of the south, each area contributes unique characteristics to Florida's spirit portfolio.
